Why write long sentences and risk making more mistakes?
This tip was given to me when I was in school.
My English teacher said,
“Writing long sentences is not wrong, but it will increase your chances of making more mistakes in terms of grammar and spelling.”
So, try to keep it short and straight forward especially if you are new to writing.

As soon as I read the title I knew I was going to have to contradict, because in case you haven’t noticed – I write really long sentences! I don’t believe a writer should stray from using complex sentence structure to express their point. If you happen to be verbose, then go for it.

Your English teacher had a good point, though I must admit that I enjoy a long sentence because it makes the short ones more powerful.
