I am experimenting with WriteSparks Lite (which is free) during my free time.
It is a very helpful tool to help you get started in writing (during leisure or anytime) especially when you have no idea what you want to write about. You get a tool that tells you where to begin your story (or at least prompt you).
There are different sections to help you get started.
1. First Line Generator – gives you the very first line of your writing and you will have to continue from there.
2. Cliche Starter Generator – gives you some clues for your writing.
3. Mixed Metaphors Generator
4. Mixed Proverbs Generator
5. Random Story Words Generator
6. ‘What If’ Story Generator
7. Quick Prompts Generator
Truly the tool you need if you are writing fiction. However, you can always try this to write about anything you want.
Since I am using the free version, there are not as many features as the paid versions. However, there are enough prompts and ideas for you to write many articles.

I have given a try at the Quick Prompts Generator and here is the topic and my writing.
Topic: Where Do You Feel Like Going Today?
Timing: 5 minutes 05:00
My writing:
I would like going to the town today just to get a copy of ABC magazine. However, going out just to get a magazine seems to be a waste of time compared to what I can do at home, working, watching TV and sleeping. I would like to have a taste of a cup of coffee in Starbucks too but that would cost more money, which is not what I want.
So what should I do? I keep asking myself do I need to get out or not. Finally I decided to stay at home and browse some online magazines. Prove to be the best idea of all as I discovered more magazines to read for the rest of my life. I am glad I didn’t leave home or else I would not have discovered so many great reads. This is why I love the internet and of course, I would never trade internet for anything in the world, not even money. I love the internet and it has been part of my life now.
Blogging, freelancing and more writing is my ritual daily even during weekends. Sometimes my husband would say that I am more addicted to the internet than him. Sorry my love. I still love the internet but I love you more. So, what should I do to cheer him up? I always cook a nice meal on Sunday. That would be the one and only day I cook. Still he loves it.
I have to laugh after writing this. I feel as if I am in a rush. However in 5 minutes, this is what I can come up with. I truly need to have more practice and this is the tool I need.
Next, I tried the Random Story Words Generator.
The words given were waitress, crayons, hallway, envelope.
Timing: 5 minutes 05:00
Here is the result:
There was a waitress trying to cheer a kid with some crayons to draw on a piece of paper. Apparently the parents were busy entertaining the guests, thus leaving the kid alone. As she leaves, she saw an envelope lying in a hallway. Curious to know what was inside the envelope, she picked it up and opened it, only to find there was nothing at all. She threw the envelope in the garbage and next thing she knew, there was an explosion and she died.
Hahaha, can’t stop laughing at my own writing. I need to write more.
Why not give it a try? It is free after all, unless if you want to go for the paid versions.
